Virtual Assets Standards
Version: 1.0
Date:14 March 2025
Homecubes Management FZE considers the following factors when assessing a Virtual Asset (VA) for listing:
1. Security
Homecubes prioritizes the security of Virtual Assets. A Virtual Asset must meet the following security requirements:
- A thorough security assessment, including but not limited to:
- A smart contract audit (if applicable),
- An evaluation of the security and immutability of the underlying Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) protocol,
- A vulnerability assessment.
- The Virtual Asset issuer must demonstrate that robust security measures have been implemented to protect the asset from threats such as hacking, theft, and unauthorized access.
2. Legal and Regulatory Compliance
Homecubes operates in compliance with the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) Regulations and all applicable UAE laws and international regulatory requirements. For a Virtual Asset to be considered for listing on the Homecubes platform, it must:
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations in the jurisdiction where it is issued and where Homecubes operates.
- Adhere to relevant securities laws, tax regulations, Anti-Money Laundering (AML) rules, and Know-Your-Customer (KYC) requirements.
- Undergo a legal review to ensure compliance with financial regulations.
- Be assessed for potential susceptibility to price manipulation or conflicts of interest.
- If the Virtual Asset represents a right to a real-world asset, the enforceability of such rights must be verified.
- Be reviewed for any prior regulatory approvals or prohibitions by DWTC or other relevant authorities.
3. Virtual Asset Issuer Due Diligence Requirements
To ensure compliance, Homecubes will conduct due diligence on Virtual Asset issuers by:
- Verifying the issuer’s background, including relevant experience in the VA sector and any prior investigations or claims related to fraud or deceit.
- Reviewing the issuer’s white paper, business model, and financial information.
- Conducting background checks on the issuer’s management team.
- Examining any legal or regulatory issues surrounding the asset.
- Ensuring the issuer is a legally registered entity or, if an individual, that full KYC documentation is provided.
- Requiring regular compliance updates from issuers regarding their policies and procedures.
4. Virtual Asset Use Case
Homecubes only lists Virtual Assets with a clear and verifiable use case. The evaluation process includes:
- Analyzing the economic rights provided to token holders and ensuring the asset has a determinable value beyond speculation.
- Assessing the asset’s utility, ensuring that its function and purpose are clearly defined.
- Evaluating liquidity to ensure there is sufficient supply to support primary distribution and secondary trading.
- Reviewing market capitalization trends and ensuring that sufficient assets exist to satisfy obligations related to Virtual Asset activities.
5. Virtual Asset Features
Homecubes assesses whether any Virtual Asset characteristics may pose compliance risks related to AML, sanctions, securities, or intellectual property laws.
6. Virtual Asset Information
It is critical that Virtual Assets listed on Homecubes provide accurate and verified information. This includes:
- Clear disclosure of token specifications, such as name, ticker symbol, total supply, and technical details.
- Ensuring transparency in issuance and distribution.
- Ongoing updates regarding the Virtual Asset’s development and any relevant market changes.
- Periodic review of Virtual Asset Terms and Conditions to ensure they align with the operation of any corresponding physical markets.
7. Changes to Virtual Asset Standards
Any future updates to Homecubes’ Virtual Asset Standards will be posted on this page. Where necessary, affected parties will be notified via email.
